Our Foundations

River Forth Ranch (previously Platte River Fort) was built in 2001 as a replica of the historic Bent’s Fort in La Junta, Colorado. Inspired by the rich history of Colorado, the original vision was to create a space that reflected the spirit of the Old West while serving as an educational hub for young minds. The structure was designed to mirror the historic fort, which was originally built in 1834 along the Arkansas River as a haven for army troops, western settlers, and traders journeying along the Santa Fe Trail from St. Louis to New Mexico.

Today

River Fort Ranch opened its doors as one of the top new Colorado wedding venues in March 2015. Renovations to the property included the addition of six bathrooms, four suites, three bedrooms, three bunkrooms, a spacious dining room that seats fifty guests, and a world-class gourmet kitchen. These improvements transformed the property into a unique wedding venue in Colorado, offering unforgettable experiences that combine comfort, history, and adventure.
